Jewel, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Kristin Chenoweth and Vanessa Williams have surprised attendees over the past five years as part of the annual “An Evening of Unexpected Delights” fundraiser benefiting The Journey Home, Baltimore City’s plan to make homelessness rare and brief. For the event’s sixth year, there is no more guessing. The organization has let the cat out of the bag, announcing The Roots will take the stage with special guest, Tony Award-winner Leslie Odom, Jr. of “Hamilton” on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric.

“This event will help to raise awareness and critical funds in our effort address homelessness in our city,” said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.  “We need the entire community to come together to solve this serious problem.”
